Bachelor Pad Magazine is on the lookout for cool content for the magazine! We are always accepting reviews, interviews, fiction, pin-ups, and one-panel comics for this and future issues. We ask for digital publication rights for our on-line and print-on-demand copies. We will not use content outside of the issue without permission.
We want unpublished, exclusive, never-before-seen photos. We want our gals to look like they stepped out of a 1950's men's magazine. No hot rods please--just want pin-ups. We are also moving away from seamless backdrop studio shots and going for more on-location shots. We also ask that models not be overly tattooed. Please send a selection of thumbnails of various poses to be considered for a pictorial.
We have lots of pin-ups submitting photos, so there is usually at least a six-month wait from acceptance to print.
We're always looking for swinging fiction like that found in classic 1950’s men's magazines--something around 800-1000 words. 1,500 words if it's really good. Please nothing more than PG-13. (If you want to do something a tad racier, it can be considered for our annual Nightcap Edition.)
Topics we like are drinking, burlesque, “confession of a *fill in the blank*,” manly living, tiki, pin-ups, and the like.
We have plenty of movie and music reviewers on staff, so please no reviews. We also have lifestyle and advice columns, so please hold off on those stories. And no hot rod/car features. Already plenty of magazines out there covering that. We also get a lot of pulp fiction/crime stuff so we are really looking for something different.
Stories must be unpublished and hopefully not widely distributed on-line.
We always need artists whose style is akin to that of the 1950's and early 1960's. We use art in two main areas. One, for illustrations for stories and features. And, two, classic one-panel jokes that we sprinkle throughout the issue. We use only original art created specifically for the magazine.
